To determine which set of locking pins you need:
A typical set of Sperzel 6L (6 in line) machine heads features a mixture of post heights:

2 short (for the top E & B strings)
-
2 medium (for the G & D strings)
-
2 long (for the bottom E & A strings)
So for an S-type guitar (with a ‘flat’ headstock), you would need to order a mixed set of pins.
If you have a 'tilt-back' head stock (as on many modern rock guitars), then you would probably need a set of 6 Long.
A typical set of Sperzel 3L (3 Left, 3 Right) tuners would feature 6 Long pins.
